Let Jodi Purdy Connect You: My career as a Casting Director in New England began as a Talent Recruiter for producers, directors and casting companys from Boston, New York and Los Angeles while working with my mother, Diane Purdy, who operated a successful childrens theater program on the South Shore of Boston from 1970 to 2010. In 2002, I assisted one of Bostons top casting directors, Carolyn Pickman of CP Casting, with recruiting and casting child actors for Clint Eastwoods Academy Award Winning feature film Mystic River, in 2005 for Martin Scorseses Academy Award Winning feature film The Departed and in 2006 for Ben Afflecks Academy Award Nominated feature film Gone Baby Gone. In 2006, another of Bostons top casting directors, Angela Peri, of Boston Casting, hired me to cast 10,000 extras in the Disney feature film The Game Plan starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson. In 2007 I cast 2,000 extras and a dozen speaking roles in the feature films The Pink Panther 2 starring Steve Martin; 2,000 extras in The Maiden Heist starring Christopher Walken and Morgan Freeman and 1,500 extras in What Doesnt Kill You starring Mark Ruffalo. In 2008, I was hired by one of New Yorks top extras casting directors, Grant Wilfley, to cast 2,000 extras in Bride Wars starring Kate Hudson and Ann Hathaway. Since 2009, I have concentrated less on casting extras in Hollywood feature films and more on casting principal, day player and extra roles in Indie feature films, local, regional and national TV commercials and local, regional, national and international music videos. In addition, I have worked as a locations scout/manager; production manager and producer. I am currently looking to connect the thousands of actors with the thousands of producers, directors and casting directors in my social networking circles.
