Let me break something down for all of you who have no - TopicsExpress

Let me break something down for all of you who have no understanding of the way re-selling collectors items go. I know this will automatically inspire arguments in semantics and Facebooks tenancies of spawning piles of nit-pickers but Im going to say this anyway: stop crying about Gamestop not giving you the same amount that you paid for a game in trade-in credit. I worked at Gamestop for a few years and it was over-all one of the worst work experiences of my life, so dont take this as me defending them because of my past, take it as being more honest because I say it in spite of it all. Let me explain it slowly. If you have a piece of gray paper that you paid a dollar for and youve gotten all of the enjoyment out of that piece of paper you can and you dont want it anymore you cant go an give that paper to the store, get your dollar back and expect them to pay someone to take your paper, clean it up, iron out the folds you put in it, put it back out on the shelf and then spend the man hours trying to re-sell it to someone else for that same dollar (or even less than) you spent. It does cost companies to re-sell used items, they literally cant afford to give you back what you paid and continue to do business. They have to give you back at least half to pay for the work and make money off of it all. If it hurts so much to trade your Call Of Duty: Whatever or Madden 20blahblah and not get back $50 of the $65 you spent then hold on to the game, or the money you may spend on it. As much as this may be a shock, Gamestop doesnt solely exist to bring you things to have fun with, they exist to make a profit. They are a company. Sometimes its that simple.
