Let me introduce to you my very first basset. Her name is Tequila (Teki). I purchased her from a byb in March of 2005. Unfortunately we lost her to a brain tumor in March 2013. She was only 7 years old. Because of Teki I was introduced to the world of rescue through basset people I met. Since then my family and I have gone on to foster over 400 dogs, mostly bassets, and I currently sit on the board of directors of a very reputable and large rescue group in the Dallas area. The point of this post? Just because someone purchases a puppy doesnt mean they are against rescue. Just because someone adopts doesnt mean they are against buying. We ALL love our babies no matter where they came from! The ongoing argument buying vs adopting is getting so old! Can we not all get along and quit attacking each other for the sake of our babies?
