Let me preface my posting by saying this is a political post and it is primarily directed at my friends that reside in Illinois. Let me also say that I consider myself a conservative first, and the Republican second. There are many Republicans in Washington DC that I believe do not represent my values. Tuesday, March 18 is the Illinois primary. There are many races that will be on the ballot you that will see, the one I am most interested in at this time is the primary between Jim Oberweis and Doug Truax. I believe they are both honorable men, but I believe Doug Truax represents my values more than Jim does. Doug is a West Point graduate, Army Ranger veteran has three children and a wife to whom he has been married for 21 years. From the interviews I have heard of Doug, he is in line with my conservative values. Doug also believes in term limiting Dick Durbin does not share my values of pro-life, smaller government and many other areas I won’t mention here. To me we have too many career politicians who have lost touch with the American people and it’s time for a fresh face for Illinois. I want to see Doug defeat Dick Durbin in the fall. If you are satisfied with the government we have now, stay home on Tuesday and stay home in November as well. We cannot complain if we are not engaged I encourage you to get out and vote on the 18th. Although it may not seem like it, I believe it is still the government of “We the People”. For me I am tired of government intrusion into my life and my family’s life and I intend to vote for Doug Truax on the 18th
