Let me say starting off that I love my country despite the - TopicsExpress

Let me say starting off that I love my country despite the hardships Ive had to endure via race, gender, and social status; America by far is truly a privileged country to live in. However today I was taken back twenty something years by the racial slurs that were screamed out at me in Danville, California. The N word! I had teenaged Caucasians driving pass me referring to me as a Nigger. What the hell its 2013 and we still have these racist issues. All this means is that parents, grown men and women are still raising their children to hate. I was and am so appalled by this type of behavior. I was hurt, mad, and wanted to catch those kids and beat the hell out of them; but, I realized that would only make things worst. This made me think about that N word how black Americans have taken this word and have used it as a term of endearment. That does not make it any better but worst so from this day on that N word will no longer be apart of my vocabulary and nor will I support anyone who uses it, whether it be a rapper or a homeboy! If a rapper wants to use it as a term of endearment, I will not purchase their music, videos, or anything that glorifies that word. Im asking everyone who reads this to join me as I take away the power of a word that has been meant to degrade and belittle a race of people who built this country beside every nationality that is apart of this melting pot we call home. I am not an African American. I am a American who deserves respect just as any other American does. Lets teach this generation uplifting and encouraging words of endearment. If we work together we can cast the word into the pit of hell where it belongs. It starts with you.
