Let me say this here and now... If your interest isnt customer service – how yuh reach in de people ting? – come out from dey! Ask your manager to transfer you to another department, if possible. Go elsewhere so that you won’t have to interface with customers. Hide yourself in a crocus bag, if possible, because customer service doesn’t require an unpleasant attitude. Some people in customer service must understand that they must leave their personal issues, including man/woman stress, off the job. Worse yet, to pass it off on customers. Moreover, an employee in customer service may not fancy a walk-in prospective customer (whatever the reason), but the employee must recognize the need to be courteous, helpful, respectful and businesslike when attending to the same customer. This is the crux of professionalism. Hmmm, employers need to seriously look at their employees in customer service and re-assign if need be. Some customer service representatives are putting some businesses in the pig pen. Time to raise the bar among us.
