Let not the past wrongs and misfortunes affect your sense of doing things now for an innocent man or woman in your life if you have any. For he/she is not the mastermind of your previous mishaps. Do not apply former lecture notes in your past relationships to present because the only only difference between past and present is change. Some persons now in their relationships assume Caution rationale that they do not want to repeat mistakes they committed in their past relationships especially now that they are in a new one. In view of this, they become more careful, become more suspicious on slightest wrong done by a partner and in extreme cases, they nag and stop doing good things to their present partners so that they are not fooled again. I must admit that it is somehow a good self-defense but it is not absolute check to avoid bad men/women. It is very difficult to know what is in a man/womans heart towards you. However, God can show you attributes of the man or woman in your life to inform you whether he is good or otherwise. Men and women must resolve to accept that it is only God who can reveal and give a good man or woman to you so do not sit in your comfort chair and presume a good man or woman. It is not good looks, secured profession/job and other pleasurable things of this life that make up a good man or woman. It is a spiritual function. In 1 Corinthians 2; 10, 2; 15-16, The Bible says, For everything is revealed t o us through the Spirit; for the spirit searches everything, even the depth of God. Those who are spiritual discern all things,and for we have the mind of Christ. Proverbs 31: 10 also asks who can find a virtuous woman? This suggests that there may be women who are not virtuous and yet they are also seeking for marriage and vice versa. Pretence and impression are traits of god men/women. Seek Gods direction and you will not be misled; do not be misled by good looks and nice things you are offered though they may be genuine at times.
