Let the Deep Frying Begin! The State Fair of Texas 2013 is open, and runs until October 20th! The new and improved Big Tex has been revealed – what do you think of his new look? I kinda like his Lucchese boots! The State Fair has something for everyone – livestock, cars, entertainment, the midway, demonstrations, the Cotton Bowl and MORE. And of course, let’s not forget the FAIR FOOD! I love all of the regulars – turkey legs, corn on the cob, funnel cakes. I also love the DEEP FRIED creative items. This year there were many entries to choose from such as Deep Fried King Ranch Casserole, Deep Fried Nutella, Golden Fried Millionaire Pie, Texas Fried Fireball, Deep Fried Chocolate Chip Burrito, Deep Friend Spaghetti & Meatball & a few more. The stand out Deep Fried winners this year are, for Most Creative Entry, the Deep Fried Thanksgiving Dinner, and Best Tasting Entry, the Deep Fried Cuban Roll!
