Let the goodness keep on going ---- Thumbs up ka, kabayan! Netizens hail a construction worker, Adones Datalayta, who returned a wallet containing more than P20,000 to its rightful owner. According to a report on GMA TV’s 24 Balitanghali and 24 Oras, the construction worker was on his way home to Tondo, Manila, when he found the wallet. Although he saw the large sum of money inside the wallet, he did not think about keeping it, knowing it was not his to keep. He immediately went to radio station DZBB Super Radyo to report the lost item he found, in hopes the owner might be listening to the station and get his wallet back. The announcement reached the wallet’s owner, Renato Palaganas, who immediately went to the station to claim his items. According to Palaganas, upon noticing his wallet was gone, he had lost hope that he would get his money back but wanted to retrieve it for his IDs. It surprised Palaganas that he was able to get back his wallet, with all the items, including the cash, intact. The two were able to meet each other at the radio station, allowing the wallet’s owner to personally thank Datalayta for returning his money. When asked why he returned the wallet without taking any of the cash, Datalayta said the money was not his and it was but a ‘small’ amount. He added that the money was something he could earn if he just worked hard enough. The report did not mention whether Palaganas gave Datalayta a reward for returning his wallet.
