Let us not beat around the bush - Abbott is now, well and truly, Australias George W Bush. But before we delve into the implications of this, we should note that this is hardly a newly apt title. For one thing, this is not the first promise which Abbott has broken. In a now infamous interview on public television the night before his election, Abbott made a series of promises to voters: No cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the [goods and services tax] and no cuts to [the public broadcasters] ABC and SBS.
