Let us not mince words. Bundy was not taken out of context to discredit his character in a gotcha moment. This poor ol white man victim-hood narrative is patently offensive and absurd. There is no context in which it is okay to suggest any person is better off living in chains than in todays America. His choice of the words Negro and Colored People arent what made his statement racist. Those were simply the tell-tale identifiers that someone is about to say some monumentally ignorant shit. No person who has not walked in the shoes of the historically enslaved is allowed to preface a lecture with Let me tell you what I know about the Negro... Please dont. Dont tell me anything. Ever. I already know what you know. Jack. And shit. But that still isnt what makes his statement horrifically racist, it just tips us off to what is about to come. And boy did Bundy deliver. Again, there is no context, none whatsoever, in which you can intelligently suggest that any man, woman or child is better off as property that can be chained to a pole and whipped like a dog. That is monumental stupidity. To single out a certain race with a horrific history of being tortured under these conditions under a shameful time in human history... to suggest this is perhaps a better fate for those people...to nearly wax nostalgic about a simpler time when a poor withered old white man didnt have to worry about political correctness and keeping up with the times... This is all patently wholesale racism. It isnt the language. It isnt the context. It is the sentiment. It is the intent of a carefully considered opinion. He said he thought a lot about it and this was his conclusion. It is indefensible. And it isnt just his statement that is racist. Its any defense that would turn the tables in mock horror that others would play the race card. Again, I will not dally or indulge in bullshit. Bundy isnt the victim of the race card...he was the dealer who laid out a full house of racist cards, exposing himself and anyone who would defend these statements as a patent, to the core of their rotten heart, racist and general asshole of a human being.
