Let us say the bill is commendable, health-wise. But let us look into Metro-Manila for a moment and consider the problems we residents here are facing: (a) Its crowded streets are exacerbated by the fact that motorbike riders are now becoming more of menace, appearing right in front of you, even speeding in fact, on top of the already many motorists, both public and private vehicles alike, while we also have to contend with the de padjacks and kuligligs; (b) Putting bikes on the streets of the Philippines only adds up to the already existing road population that goes to the many thoroughfare of Metro-Manila, expect a larger traffic nightmare than we have now; (c) What is important is to put less people with their own mode of transportation on the street as possible. Then, improve or even expand all mass transport system, that covers the suburban communities just outside the metropolis. We do not need more people on the streets and their private transportation. There are no more roads to build perhaps, but an effective mass transportation system will surely be one great solution for our commuting public.
