Let us start by wishing everybody all the best for 2015 and we hope that all your racing aspirations come to fruition this year, obviously culminating in your participation in the Roof of Africa at the end of the year. On that note, the dates for the 2015 Roof of Africa have been set down for 18-21 November this year. We would have preferred to stay with the first week in December as we felt this was really popular with families attending in the school holidays but unfortunately MSA will not grant us that date as they are planning their National Awards Dinner on the Saturday night. The 2015 Bronze qualifying event will be held on the 23rd May 2015. This event is used as a stepping stone for riders wanting to secure a place in the main Bronze Roof of Africa. The qualifying event has proved to be extremely successful as can be seen by the 72 Bronze finishers at the 2014 Roof of Africa. The event helps to get the best of the Bronze riders into the main event by proving their commitment, technical riding ability and also to prepare them for what is to be expected when participating in the Roof of Africa. We are increasing the number of Bronze entries to 120 this year. ALL competitors wanting to participate in the Roof of Africa 2015 BRONZE CLASS will be have to qualify for the main event. If you finished the 2014 Roof of Africa (No matter what class) it does not give you automatic entry into the 2015 Bronze Roof of Africa. This is done for obvious reasons; the bronze class is in there for racers who would like to wet their feet in the main Roof of Africa and one day progress up to SILVER and then hopefully the GOLD Premier class. We cannot keep the same pool of riders year after year; new blood needs to be given a chance to prove their worth. INFORMATION Entry will open on 1st March 2015 – racecontrol.co.za Entry fee will be R1 100.00 International Competitors from Overseas will not have to participate in the qualifier. There will be 120 BRONZE places open to qualify for. There will be an ALLCOMERS CLASS for anyone of any level wishing to use this event as a practice or fun ride. The 1st and 2nd finishers in Bronze will be given Free entry into the main Bronze Roof of Africa Event The 1st finisher in ALLCOMERS will be given Free entry into the main Roof of Africa Event If you participate into the Bronze Qualifying Class event you may not enter the Silver or Gold Class at the main Roof of Africa event – If you want to enter SILVER or GOLD at the Roof of Africa then you will need to enter the ALLCOMERS CLASS. The race will consist of 2 loops starting and finishing at a central point so the service crew will not have to move. Looking forward to seeing you all in Lesotho in 2015!
