Don’t think of yourself as smarter than everyone else. Romans 12:16 ERV Be of the same mind one toward another. I like that -- it tells us how to live in harmony -- be of the same mind. Its also relatively easy to live in harmony when everyone agrees. Unfortunately, thats not all Paul is talking about. So how do we get along with others when we fundamentally disagree on an issue? If our likes and dislikes are vastly different? Harmony means we make beautiful music together; it doesnt imply we always sing or play the same notes. This is where so many in Christian circles go wrong. They think we must all agree on every doctrinal issue or we cant worship together. More fellowship has been broken over minor topics related to form, rather than anything of substance. We should always begin and end our harmonies with and in Christ Jesus. Colossians3:11: Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Most conflict resolution specialists start discussions by identifying similarities, not differences. Why? Because most of the time when we realize how closely we are aligned on important matters, the disconnections seem minor. Ephesians 2:14: For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility. Questions of today. Are you having difficulty living in harmony with someone? What are your similarities? Do you share Jesus? If so, you are home free. Why? Because He is to be our center. Start there.
