Lets be honest with each other: Regardless of our political inclination, you must admit that people in government lie. You must also admit that there are times government works against the people. And, you must also be honest and say, regardless of political leaning, the party you endorse sometimes fails you. Liberal, conservative or independent, this is an absolute. The only way a countrys citizens continue to hold their freedom, their power over government, is to realize that governments, local, state and national are comprised of people who are our employees. Now, we have allowed our employees to become dictatorial, at times. Sometimes these people are not competent. Sometimes they say whats needed to get you to vote for them. Sometimes they overstate their resumés. Very often, they lie about their opponents in an effort to turn you against them. So we vote on what they tell us instead of using common sense and acknowledging that a politician who bears false witness against an opponent is not honest enough to be your trustee. We must remember, again, regardless of of political leaning, that WE are the government. The people whom we elect are OUR public servants. They are not elected to agendize, they are not elected to feed their egos and they are not elected to play poker with our futures. They are in Washington to do a job. To work together to do the job we demand, avoiding fixing things that are not broken and fixing those that are... and do it with the most benefit and the least harm.
