Lets have a conversation about music! =D First, watch this clip from The Shawshank Redemption (1994). Im going to go out on a limb and assume most of you have seen that film at least once, but its always good to review. As for me, this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie, and some time ago I realized I had learned Freemans voice-over narrative there by heart, not through any real effort on my part, but just from having seen that particular bit so many times and meditating on it. I want first to share with you all some music that strikes me the same way that the duet from Mozarts The Marriage of Figaro strikes Dufresne, Redding, etc., and then perhaps if youre so inclined you can share some music that also affects you. There are only two criteria Id like you to abide by: your selection must either be a song sung in a language that you do not understand and that you do not know the translation of, OR it can be a purely instrumental piece, no lyrics at all.
