Lets imagine im not a parent, for arguments sake, and allow me to present you a recent scenario that i was involved in. Everyone in the houshold is in charge of keeping it clean, that includes anyone, even the little ones. As i stroll downstairs from my bedroom, i notice the livingroom was a little messy. I proceed to tell everyone to stop playing the xbox, and clean the living room. Everyone starts to clean, including myself. I tell a certain 13 year old child, not mines of course, to bring his bookbag to his room. He takes his time. I then say again BRING YOUR BAG TO YOUR ROOM!, to which he then says, Wait a minute! Im texting someone!....???huh??.....??what???....??excuse me???...........to which i then say, PUT THE PHONE AWAY AND BRING YOUR BAG TO YOUR ROOM BEFORE I TAKE IT FROM YOU!...to which he then says, OOOOKKKAAAYYY!, BUT WHY YOU YELLIN!!....??huh??.....??excuse me??........So i proceed to get in this childs face and let him know exactly what the deal is!! (If you know what i mean!)...now, while im yellin at him, he proceeds to say, again...BUT WHY YOU YELLIN, DOE?....pause.........now at this point, had it been one of my children, i would have been brought up on a misdemenor charge, but thats another story! Now, i ask, what did i do wrong? Even better, what would you have done differently?..I dont like to get too personal in the social networking arena, but i was actually told that i overreacted....hmmmmmm........really?? I actually thought i underreacted!!....
