Lets just break it down and get this straight, there is nothing NOTHING complimentary about calling a black woman an angry black woman. Dont confuse strength with anger. Dont confuse confidence with anger. Dont confuse tiredness and frustration with stupidity as anger. When a black woman is angry, you will know it, but so often we go out of our way to temper ourselves in situations because if our faces get animated or if our voices rise an octave or two we are immediately labeled angry which translates to: difficult to work with, impossible, unproductive. I am tired of that label. Call Bill Gates an angry white man when he raises his voice at an associate who is not cutting it. Call Steven Spielberg an angry white man when he yells at a camera man for not being where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be. Call Hillary Clinton an angry white woman when she gets quiet and her face is devoid of a smile because things are not the way she expected it. Stop using the angry black woman argument as a way to diminish the talent, education and power of black women. Just stop. And no, I am not angry. :)
