Lets talk about ANXIETY and STRESS...8-1-14 There is no life without work, anxieties or tensions. Dont feel as though something strange is happening to you, but be happy as you share Christs sufferings. Then you will also be full of joy when he appears again in his glory. -1 Peter 4:12-13 Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters ... they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God. Isaiah 43:1-3 Reflection: Do you have days that you feel like you never run out of things to do? Do you feel like you need more than one of you to get things done? Do you stress about something before it even happens? Do you find it hard to relax? Surely, we have been in this situation more than once in our lifetime. In this hi-tech era where everything is supposed to be connected to make life more convenient, we seem to be busier. This busyness is a pitfall.... These stressors keeps us from having the quiet time we need to improve our spiritual life. Stress is one of the greatest spiritual pitfalls because it causes us to fall away from God by causing us to lose PEACE.. We worry, we get anxious because we lose sight of Gods saving grace and providence in our daily lives. Our greatest drama is caused by us losing confidence in God!!! We have to take time out of each day to focus on Gods reassuring promises to us..... -So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) -I will never fail you nor forsake you. (Heb. 13:5) -There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. -1 John 4:18 -Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. -Psalm 23:61 Let us take time each day to focus and converse with The Lord. Let us allow Him to comfort and reassure us that His grace is sufficient for us to overcome the stressors we may encounter each day. We cannot achieve holiness without inner peace. Let us hold on to Him so we can have PEACE. Prayer: Dear Lord, Calm my fears and anxieties. Increase my faith and give me the grace to trust that You are always there to deliver me. Amen. Leave everything to Him who can do EVERYTHING .....in His time. Have a lovely day yall!
