So the position at the moment is that results from 80 constituencies show that Edgar Lungu has polled 533, 613, while UPND has 474, 076. Observation Zambia is slowly adopting regional politics, which I think its not good a all. Tongas have already shown that they want a Tonga to take over with the help of their tribal cousins from the west. They are also being supported by Kaondes, Luvales and Lundas. I think you can see that HH is getting high votes in Southern, Western, and Northwestern. Edgar Lungu is getting high votes in Eastern, Nothern, Luapula, Copperbelt, Lusaka, Muchiga, while they are sharing Central province, although HH isn getting reasonable votes in Eastern, which shows that easterners are not as tribal as Tonga. So Tongas should not deny the fact that they are tribal, it started after the death of Anderson Mazoka, when they were looking for a successor of the late Mazoka, they clearly stated that a Tonga was supposed to succeed a Tonga, and thats what what happened. Towards the end of the campaigns one Danny Munkhombwe also made a point that its time for Tongas to rule. they are so many examples I can cite, that makes me feel Tongas are tribal. But lets not encourage this kind of behavior because its not good for the democracy of this country.
