Letter sent to the Editor, Stuart News Republicans – Do not give your vote to Nancy Pelosi Patrick Murphy is campaigning as a Republican and Independent, running from the hugely unpopular Democrat Party that he votes with 84% of the time. He claims he is bipartisan and votes more with GOP Congressman Tom Rooney than the Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi. Not true. Murphy votes with Pelosi 72% of the time, with Rooney, only 42%. Murphy has some prominent Republican endorsements because he runs emphasizing the local issues: All Aboard Florida and the Indian River Lagoon, which are of course very important. Yet his record is unexceptional. The $38 million for the C-44 Canal reservoir that he touts never passed the Democrat Senate. In reality, he has raised $0 for the Lagoon. Murphy was also a vocal supporter of AAF, writing the DOT last October to “proactively and expeditiously” get the project going. He didn’t oppose AAF until it became politically expeditious to do so. Of the 23 pieces of House legislation Murphy has sponsored, none have ever made it out of any committee. In contrast, Murphy’s Republican opponent, Carl Domino has been prominently opposed to AAF from the very beginning. Also, while in the Florida Legislature, Domino was repeatedly recognized for his leadership in obtaining funding for environmental preservation and restoration efforts, securing hundreds of millions for the Loxahatchee River, Lake Worth Lagoon, and Everglades Forever program. A vote for Murphy is a vote for a liberal, partisan Democrat and ineffective Congressman. It is a vote for the party that brought a record low job-participation, Obamacare, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, and Fast & Furious gun running. It is a vote for a broken border and a weakened America abroad. It is a vote you cannot afford. Vote Carl Domino.
