Letter to a friend After sipping from a cup of steaming tea, putting the glasses on, keeping the paper close to her chest, she writes…. “For it has been long since I have seen you. Unbending, Uncompromising, Unsympathetic the years have passed by, Dear friend. Cold-hearted, unjust and unfair were the clocks that ticked, like a mystifying, shrewd puzzle, continually testing my needs.” Thereafter, she stops, reads the letter again, thinks of the good- old time, spent on playing and eating, and dancing with her closest dear friend, and also thinks she, “Oh LORD! , the enigma that had kept me in shackles for years in and out, had been kind upon you, lapping up your life, keeping you amused enough to appreciate its delight.” Coming back to life, as she realizes that she has still not written on the piece of paper what she intended her friend to read, she tries to bring down together the commingling thoughts and agony of her life on that white sheet…. Gripping her pen tighter this time, Pen is mightier than sword, tingles her mind Wearing her heart on her sleeves, A woman tries to jot down the story of her life As she continues….. “Good I am, still not in ecstasy, writes she Dwelling among the umpteen ideas, yet have not reached that epiphany. Albeit, might you wonder of my business all this while, but if would have thought properly, I was high in Himalayas, searching for that enlightening peace Happy seemed the monks there, happier was the Ice. Nothing cold did to me, except freezing my already frozen nights. Smiled the Shepherds watching my irony, unnerved with the pain, that has gnashed me under its convoluted grip. - Ackansha
