Letter to the editor Appointment of a new Chief of Army in Pakistan. It is right that the state has the authority to appoint its Chief of Army and other countries have got no concern on this subject. As far as Pakistan is concerned, it was a part of India and while parting with, they had got certain problems and those are still outstanding. Pakistan had tried to show that India is a weak country, but it failed in all the direct wars with India. Ultimately Pakistan initiated this indirect war against India and this war helped Pakistan to create mischiefs in India without any gains. Pakistan knows that it is not in a position to have victory in direct wars and therefore, it has adopted the method of this indirect war which may not bring any gain to Pakistan, but they can create terror in India. They are not accepting support to this war, but evidence is making clear that all these terrorists are recruited, trained and then sent to India by the Pakistan forces. Would the new Chief of Army leave this path, we cannot expect a change on this front because Pakistan is not bearing its losses in the past since 1947 and it is wanting that India must also suffer losses equal to the losses Pakistan had suffered in the past.
