Letter to the editor claiming the gas and oil companies are funding ReElect Tom Jankovsky Garfield County Commissioner? LOL They pulled the same tactic two years ago with John Martin claiming his campaign was funded my anonymous sources? The truth of the matter is all donors over $20 furnish their name and contact information to the campaign, along with employer and occupation for amounts over $100 who in turn furnish this information to the Secretary of States office. You can contact their office and get this public information. Only personal checks can be accepted for a campaign, no business checks. I have not seen the donor list yet this year but I can assure you my name is on it as are the names of other ranchers and businessmen and women in the valley! The largest donor this year will probably be Garfield County Republicans, thank you all for attending the Lincoln Day Dinner, the Fall Roundup and for sending checks to Garfield County Republicans. This will probably surprise you even more, donations from the gas companies are few and far between. They seem perturbed that our commissioners hold their noses to the grindstone for public safety and responsible drilling. Only republicans can catch it from both sides.
