Letters - The Republican Newspaper, Wed., Mar. 5, 2014: Massachusetts liberal Republicans have held sway for too long The headline “GOP: Adopted platform divisive to party,” (The Republican March 2) referring to pro-life and pro-traditional marriage language being inserted into the Massachusetts Republican platform shows the newspaper’s bias. Republicans shouldn’t be involved only to fix Democrats’ mistakes. There’s a lot more to this political, policy making stuff. And common-sense positions to the right-of-center are intrinsically interconnected. Like one of the comments on the masslive version of the story: “These important social issues cannot be separated from the fiscal ones.” Furthermore, Kristen Hughes, Richard Tisei and Matthew Sisk, et al., of the former Massachusetts GOP are just frustrated, intolerant liberals with no moral compass. It’s truly a shame and a travesty they “lead” the state Republican Party. The grassroots is gravely underrepresented by these ivory-tower Bostonians. -MIKE FRANCO, Holyoke ps: Original article at Masslive has more than 200 comments.
