Let’s face it; “struggling single mom” buys a hell of a lot more votes than “spoiled princess that got to take a break from the demands of motherhood to chase her own personal dreams.” I suppose it doesn’t fit the liberal feminist narrative to admit that she wasn’t exactly single, wasn’t exactly poor, and wasn’t exactly present in her children’s lives for a good three years.
