Let’s join our faith together and pray like we know God is listening…for truly He is! Mighty God and Lord Jesus Christ, I come on bended knee in reverence with raised hands in adoration for the mercy shown me and mine on yesterday as I was snatched from the jaws of death and given another day of life on earth to glorify you. I saw first hand the ravages of the enemy against others when a lone gunman shot and killed 12 people in an office building directly adjacent to mine. I did not know where the shooter would go next, but You did. I was not sure if yesterday would be my last day on earth, but You did. I did not think I would come so close to death yesterday, but You did. I did not know I would experience the taking of so many others’ lives on yesterday, but You did. You are our God and above You there is no other. The lives of so many were destroyed as the devil fulfilled his plan of destruction at the Navy Yard. But You stood between destruction and me and would not allow my life or the life of those I loved to be destroyed. I am so grateful, appreciative, and thankful for how You keep Your promises and protect Your people. We ask that you comfort the families of those who were lost and to restore hope to those whose hope fails them in this hour. We ask that You use this moment to draw all those involved in this meaningless tragedy closer to You. Persuade us to see that without You there is no hope and that we need Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to be made whole. Be our Jehovah-Jireh and provide our needs according to Your riches in Glory through Christ Jesus; be our Jehovah-Shammah and be with us and our families in such a time as this; be Jehovah-Rapha and heal our wounds from this disaster; finally, be Jehovah-Shalom and usher in peace for our souls. And we will be so careful to give You the glory, the honor, and the praise in Jesus’ name, Amen!
