Let’s look at the wording of the 2nd amendment: A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Plenty of gun haters point to the amendment’s mention of a well-regulated militia and claim that only members of a militia may keep and bear arms. Others go even further and say that in order to own guns you must be a member of a state militia. I, and a lot of freedom-loving Americans, will point to that comma dividing the sentence. The first half of the sentence simply states that a well-regulated militia is necessary to the security of a free state. At the time of the writing, the militia was made up of all able-bodied men. They were not regular soldiers, nor were they part of a standing army, nor were they conscripts. They were simply men who could be called upon to help fight against tyranny if needed. And in order for that system to work, the framers of the Constitution needed to ensure the government could not disarm the people! Therefore, the right to keep and bear arms is, and should remain, an individual right of the people. I can not take credit for this but I wholeheartedly agree. https://usconcealedcarry/attacks-come-angles/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=CCR%203-7-2014%20Prospects%20n%20CCM%20Subs%20NO%20CC-HDF%20Buy%20%281%29&utm_content=&spMailingID=8106213&spUserID=NjQ3ODE0MzExNDUS1&spJobID=260534985&spReportId=MjYwNTM0OTg1S0
