Let’s talk about the mind holes. Yes, those things that prevent you from achieving your goals and living the life of your dreams. You see, here’s the first problem when it comes to goal setting: The first thing that you hear is to “dream BIG!” Every single self-help expert will tell you “not to limit yourself, dream wild dreams, hit for the stars, etc…” It all sounds very nice and aspiring, but here’s a problem. You set a big goal and it sounds grand. Like become a millionaire by next Tuesday. Or in a year, whatever. And then you look at this HUGE goal of yours and your minds goes “Are you kidding me? How we are supposed to accomplish THAT? I see no way we can achieve this!” And here’s your mind hole. Because your mind can’t figure out how to get from point A where you are right now to the point B where you want to go. The solution? Go step by step. You can dream as big as you want to, but set your goals low. No more than 10% of where you are at right now. So if we take weight loss as an example, and your current weight is 250 pounds, don’t set a goal to weight 120 pounds. It’s just overwhelming and your mind will block all your intentions in an instant. Set a goal to weight 225 pounds. It’s much more achievable, right? It doesn’t overwhelm you.
