Leviticus 19:28 You Shall Not Make Any Cuts On Your Body For The Dead Or Tattoo Yourselves: I Am The LORD. Clear as this Bible verse may seem, without the background and context, this verse can be taken out of context in many ways and IT USUALLY IS...This was directed towards PAGAN NATIONS who would violently cut and mark their bodies as a sign of worship to their gods....So the tattoos or markings one would find on their bodies would resemble which god or gods their were worshiping at that time...And thats pretty different from the tattoos we see today, right? Yeah! And while I do believe that markings or tattoos that resemble worship to anyone other than GOD are sinful, I believe that 99% of what we see in todays culture are not due to idol worship, but more like creative expression...ITS NOT THE TATTOO OR THE MARKING THAT IS SINFUL, BUT THE MOTIVES IN WHICH EACH TATTOO OR MARKING IS OBTAINED...Now, dont get me wrong I know tattoos are not for everybody, but I was inbox this question and I felt that it needed to be explained to the masses and so this is what Im doing...In fact, Im Not Encouraging Anybody To Get One...I just Hope and Pray that you realize that THE MOTIVES OF YOUR HEART MEANS MORE TO GOD THAN THE INK ON YOUR SKIN...But also keep in mind that this Doesnt Mean that Your Body is a Free For all Canvas to be Filled with Mindless and ILL-Thought Imagines and Sayings...Your Body Is Still A Temple And To Treat Your Body With Disrespect Is To Treat GOD The Same Way..So Whether You Are Debating To Get Your First Tattoo Or Number Twenty, I Pray That You Would Seriously Seek GOD For Wisdom, Guidance, And Be Sure To Evaluate The Motives Of Your Heart...And Just Remember We May Not All Reach The Same Conclusion, But WE Are ALL Loved By The Same GOD.~~
