Lexie and I had a wonderful day today. We never left each other - TopicsExpress

Lexie and I had a wonderful day today. We never left each other but for rare moments. It made me think about our journey to where we are right now. That would be happy, healthy, safe, and in a wonderful home and environment. Lexie is very, very healthy and happy and her training ability has skyrocketed since weve been here on our little piece of heaven. She knows what wearing her vest means (work) and when she can be a true child of the wilderness. We have finally made our house a home and are truly content. This road was hard traveled and if not for the spirit of kindness, generosity, and selflessness shown by this community we may not have all the thanks that we offer today! Christmas is a time to reflect and we have much look back upon. I took Lexie out of a very bad environment and put her in my car with nothing but her needs and my clothes. I looked at her and said.. Sister, were driving south until we hit the ocean!. We did just that, but to my chagrin I learned that she is the only Black Lab on earth that HATES water. We played the beach bum role for four days from Jamaica to East Galveston Beach. We had a wonderful time! Afterward, we left and drove to Hitchcock. Sparing the long details, we got stranded (Hitchcock PD.....) for six days with no clothes, no food, and very little money. Everything was in my car....Then the best of humanity began to become apparent. William Wheeler and Maranda Wheeler pulled us out of a tough spot and gave us a warm, safe, and comfortable place to sleep for one night. Lets just imagine not being eaten alive by mosquitoes after six days... The next morning @Susan Rene gave Lexie a loving home and cared for her while she received medical treatment for her ailments. Many of you donated to her care, and we both Love you all for that! Thank you Addie and Dr. C! Then Thor Burfine and Brenda Burfine came and rescued Lexies man... Ha, ha, I remember how yall stated that! That brings it full circle, a little over 2 months later I am starting a great new job, we have a wonderful home and are very content in our own (collective) skin. Bimbolina (Lexie) will never leave my side, nor me hers. The same goes with every one of you that helped a complete stranger! If there is ever anything we can do to help you please just ask.... Well be there in a minute! Matt Kimble, we are going to have a blast tomorrow my friend! I posted some before and after photos of Lexie so you can see how great shes doing! God Bless you and have a wonderful Christmas! Love you all, Jeff and Lexie
