Liar liar pants on fire Tony Abbot!!!!! Just saw him saying on TV that even though our troops will receive minimal pay rises (wage cut in real terms) they are still receiving the same benefits overseas in combat areas. What he so conveniently forgot to mention is that they have already significantly reduced those benefits. I get that spending needs to be reduced across the board but dont claim these people are receiving the same benefits when you have also cut them too. Asshole! Makes me so mad. My Gus is going over for his third rotation soon. We need the Income as mine has reduced significantly over the past year. So he risks his hide by going to dangerous places so we can give the kids the best life we can. We should be compensated at the same rate as always for dangerous overseas deployments. If only the government really knew the true cost to defense members and their families every time we are separated. Nothing can compensate for the worry and stress I feel every time he goes, not to mention the extra $ it costs for me to raise our kids on my own. And do I ever receive any support from the so called family defense force. Of course not.
