Licensed Childcare Support Staff Company: South Arm Community Association Resumes are now being accepted for Support Staff for South Arm Community Centre’s School-Age Out-of-School Care programs. Duties and Responsibilities Supervision/guiding and caring of children requiring extra support. Working as a team to plan, implement and develop programming that is developmentally appropriate. Work with appropriate agencies to acquire resources for children requiring extra support. Contribute to the development and implementation of Care Plans for children requiring extra support. As a team member, support the program as needed to ensure safety and inclusiveness. Guide all children through the daily routines. Maintain communication with families. Follow licensing and centre protocol. Responsible to fill-out accident/incident reports. Other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills with a command of the English language. 20 hours of child care related courses/workshops. 19+ years of age. Standard, child safe or emergency first aid including CPR C. Physician’s note. Criminal Record Check. Immunization Records. Recommended Qualifications Previous experience working with children, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with children that require extra support. Courses relating to child development. Challenging behaviours courses, including collaborative problem solving or applied behavioural analysis. Class 4 Drivers License (or willingness to obtain prior to program). Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm / 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on School breaks and Pro-D Days. Salary: $14.75-$15.65/hour based on experience and merit.
