Liesl Update: yes, she is 9 1/2 years old, and blind. This is the life card thats been dealt--for her, for us, for the duration--she has SARDS. See below. Basically, there is nothing we can to to regain the vision, but we all will be adjusting to a new way of life. Shes adapting quickly, like dogs do, and so are we, but more slowly. she can pretty much find her way in the house. Outdoors is more tricky, but shes gaining confidence in the routine morning walk, the same route weve done for several years. Shes also becoming more dependent on our beloved ancient Chip. Hes going on 17, and hobbles happily around, and seems to enjoy his renewed role as alpha dog. so we are going to do this thing. I feel beyond grateful for the opportunity to walk this road with these dogs during their twilight years.
