Life… What is it..? A gift? An existence? something to be taken hold of and squeezed until every last drop is savoured? Or something to sit back and absorb through reality TV? Unfortunately, and not always intentionally, most of us devote our life to one thing.. Employment. There was a time last year when I devoted my days to construction. I was sitting in the smoke-o hut with a good friend, and he turned to me.. my son just took his first step… he read it from a text from his girl, hed been working 13 days a fortnight for the past 5 months to get his family ahead. The look on his face showed a man crushed… ….My wife was 3 months pregnant. I guess it was one of those moments in life when things appear clear, the clouds part and for a brief moment you see answers, not questions. Is this why were here? to jam out 5+ days a week, be away from the ones that we love, miss moments with our children and friends that will never ever come again... so we can live for the weekend? There has to be a better way!! ...and there is. Working from home has allowed me to experience a way of life most people dream of. My baby girl is days away from her first step… I can feel it, and Ill be here to see it. And its not like I took a pay cut. I can earn more money in a month doing this than I could in three as a carpenter. We travel, we live as though everyday is the weekend, I play music when I feel like it, surf when its there, and It all came down to a choice… You are who you choose to be!! beyournewboss
