Life at the pace of a 91 year old - day 3 Today started at breakfast time (bran flakes, sultanas, dried banana, yoghurt, milk followed by smoked haddock fillet with two poached eggs on brown toast and two rounds of toast with butter and jam!). At the table next to us there were two old dears, well ladies of a certain age for sure - but the older end of that certain age. BBC radio Cumbria was playing very quietly in the background. Paul McCartneys Silly love songs came on and one of the old dears said to the other... I used to really like the Beatles then You wear it well came on - not the most well known Faces track - and she then says ooo look theyre playing Rod Stewart now! It seemed somehow incongruous that these ladies should have such a good knowledge of 60s and 70s music. But then again why not. Theyd be young ladies when at least one of those groups were around! After Breakfast dad and I went down the lake on the Motor Vessel Teal. You might be interested to know that theres 3G in the middle bit round Bowness. But no coverage at all at either end! I took lots of pictures. On the way down we sat on the open top deck. But by the time we got to Lakeside we were cold so came back down to Ambleside in the lounge, with a cup of tea! And biscuits! After a brief stop off back at the hotel, where I have to point out all the staff are absolutely lovely!, I needed to go to the Boot & Shoe at Greystoke near Penrith, Cumbria to drop off some information about And try get a gig for, The Welsh T Band. Were looking for pubs who put on Sunday teatime band gigs in as many places as we can so we can spread our gigging area much further. I left the Boot & Shoe feeling rather hopeful we might get a gig there. Back at the hotel, we had more tea and hot buttered crumpets! This evening weve had a lovely family get together too. I cant tell you how important they are becoming to me. I hope they are to you too. Oh and when we were on the lake I thought, if I ever win a multiple rolled over euro millions jackpot I must have a house that has a boat house too. Maybe a double boathouse. A proper James Bond high-tech boat house. With a boat lift and everything! I can dream! Instead Im thinking maybe I ought to buy a decent photographers camera. Night night Facebookland x
