If only we had ... 341 firefighters and 2 paramedics from the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) 37 police officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department (PAPD) 23 police officers from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) 8 emergency medical technicians and paramedics from private emergency medical services. They died on the job at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
