Like every other person, I am indeed saddened by the several events over the past week which saw women and children having lost their lives. Newspaper reports have reported that those brutal attacks are the result of abusive relationships. I agree. However, we must firstly dispense with the bias and investigate the primary source of the abuse; the form of the abuse( whether physical, mental, emotional, psychological) before making the usual assumptions. Society, including the Legislature and the Judiciary have striped the male of his authority while NGOs such as those which are feminine by nature, continue, in their ignorance, to label man as an object of scorn. Why have we been missing an important element in almost of all these incidents: suspicion of unfaithfulness ? I am not impressed, thus far, by any assessment done to understand why men have resorted to the extreme. But until we do, pictures and names of women and those innocent children will appear under some caption in the dailies.
