Like it or not, vast amounts of the copper network are here to stay. We all had better get used to it. Why? Fixed Wireless is no good for telephony - it is far too variable and low quality to be used for VoIP. The copper will stay wherever there is a Fixed Wireless Tower. So VDSL2 will provide not only 5x times the speed of wireless, but the telephone line can stay - and the quality of the connection is superior to wireless and so VoIP can be used. Why deploy Wireless at all then? VDSL2 Nodes are far CHEAPER | BETTER | FASTER than wireless towers as well.
