Like thousands of others in Gaza right now, one of my dearest new - TopicsExpress

Like thousands of others in Gaza right now, one of my dearest new friends in Gaza is homeless. He is a graduate of a prestigious university in Gaza and an IT Specialist. But like most other young people in Gaza, he is unemployed. He lost members of his immediate family during the shelling of his house by the Israelis.... like others in his village of Shujaya, he fled from his home with his family at six in the morning - barefoot and without belongings - as shells fell without warning on his home. His former home is a pile of rubble. There is nothing left of it except broken masonry. I visited his neighborhood. There is nothing left. He lives alone. His home now is a mattress. He sleeps under an alcove at Al Shifa Hospital. His only possessions fit in a small bag. His few remaining family members live across town in an UNRWA school - out of reach. Yes, I have gotten him some help, and we shared a good lunch today, but he is absolutely starting from scratch. He is hoping to find a small apartment for his family (his sisters and their children) so that they can be together. They are starting from absolute zero. If you want to help him or others like him, please contact me. Well find a way to get him and others some more suitable and safe temporary housing, Inshallah. I tell you, my heart is breaking for him and for so many others.... He is one of the nicest guys I have met in Gaza. My dear friend sleeps on the streets. (I have not posted his name or photograph on Facebook to insure his privacy and security.)
