Like us, Robin had a progressive disease. I think all of us with an incurable, progressive disease have felt that hopelessness, helplessness. After this news I feel even more numb. With progressive disease you go from hopelessness, to hopeful, and then finally to fighting back. Sadly he never got past the hopelessness. I dont know why this has upset me so much, but it has from the very moment I heard he had died. I thought nothing could be so tragic as him killing himself. I was wrong, killing himself because he just learned of a progressive disease is even more tragic. Stay strong, and never, ever, ever give up. Those words have to be our mantra, not for us - God will take care of us, but for our families. He should have joined a group like ours. Without you I may have given up, too. Thank you for keeping me strong.
