Lil project here. My mother asked me if I could track down a song - TopicsExpress

Lil project here. My mother asked me if I could track down a song for her, which, of course, I did. The song was When I Grow Too Old To Dream which was done in the early-mid 1930s by Gracie Fields. Anything I can find of that version, of course, sounds like scratchy 78 rpm. Its charm is not lost, but its not that good. Linda Ronstadt did a version which is killer, but thats new - old. Doris Day did a version in 61 which is probably the combination of the original my mother remembered from the WWII era (when it was revived in popularity) and what she knows from when she was raising her own family. My request of you, oh varied and widespread peoples of the book of face - what other songs did your parents love? Family sibermemblings - songs that you remember Mom and Dad listening to? I want to fill a CD - not just one or two versions of the song my Mother is looking for. Please post up the best of what you remember your mom or dad (or my mom and dad) listening to!!
