Lilys bed is under my desk because she likes to come with me to the computer and stay while Im here. Thats fine, but if I accidentally put my foot in her bed she growls. I hate growling so I yelled at her and told her to stop. I know I should have taught her some other behavior, but I really didnt know what I wanted her to do, I only knew what I didnt want her to do. This has been going on for a few months....she growls, I yell which I know she doesnt like. She really does like to be good, even though she is not always successful! Today, she was in her bed, and I felt a tap on my foot with her paw! Sure enough my foot was in her bed. I didnt know whether this tap was accidental or not, but I praised her to the skies for this new behavior. She does use her paws a lot for things like this so it wouldnt be unusual. Two other times today, I put my foot in there....this time not accidentally. It was a test. Both times she hit me on the foot with her paw! Oh my gosh, I think shes got it!
