Lisa the Cat Oct. 1994 - Dec. 29, 2014 After a rough night and a morning of being cared for by Marilyn, Lisa died at 1:30 pm today, in our sun-drenched living room, in my arms. Her little spirit, set free toward a land of endless wet food, green grass, birdies, catnip, pirate booty, avocado and of course, chicken. Lisa picked me. Over 20 years ago, when a Hands Off Washington volunteer brought in a box full of kittens to the campaign office, letting them run loose while he worked on our computer network. She picked me. She came into my office and curled up under my desk, in between my feet. She was so sweet and small, fitting into the palm of my hand. As I brought her home, I told her I would be her best friend, that we would be best friends. I named her Lisa, after my childhood best friend. She has filled my heart and my days with love for all these years. I am grateful for every day/year we spent together. I will miss her so much. Be free now Little One, Lee, Cult Jam, Kitten Kaboodle... be free Lisa.
