Lissa Grodsky Perry Apr 16th, 2:12pm. I have a terrible delima. My 35 year old son is getting married next month. I also have a 7 yr old down syndrome nephew. My son and his bride to be are planning an elegant wedding. My brother has difficulty with behavior with his son. There is no follow through but everything is blamed on DS. We have asked my brother if he would mind getting a sitter for his son for the night of the wedding. He is more than welcome to all events throughout the weekend except the wedding and reception. My brother and his 10 yr old daughter are supposed to be in the wedding. Now my brother is hurt and feels just because his son is downs...is why he is not invited. I assured him is is because no other kids will be there and the couple wants no disruptions. There is no way to have both. Are we wrong to ask this of my brother? We are all hurting here. His daughter is 10 and now has to suffer as well. My brothers stand is if they are not welcome as a WHOLE family, they will not attend.
