Listen to this. Do you hear that squeaky noise? Thats what the doctors call Laryngomalacia. Wikipedia says it means (literally, soft larynx) and is the most common cause of stridor in infancy, in which the soft, immature cartilage of the upper larynx collapses inward during inhalation, causing airway obstruction. We use to hear this cat like screech only at night once he hit two months old. But I have noticed it often during the day over the last few weeks. Im wondering if this could be the cause to some of his congestion. As this may contribute to him possibly aspirating fluids into his lungs. Hmmm. Well I will know more soon. We go to Sick Kids this week for a swallowing assessment and possible modified barium swallow study. Pediatrician this week as well. Still have no idea when I can do that scope as I continue to keep suctioning this poor little guy to keep up with all his secretions. And Im still fighting a cold myself. Who gets colds in the summer? This is crazy!
