Listened to O How the Grace of God Amazes Me tonight. Lyrics translated not all that long ago from original lyrics written by African pastor (Burundi I think) Emmanuel T. Sibomana in 1946. There are about 6 or so verses total. All the verses are worth contemplating but the following two always hit me the most: Not for my righteousness, For I have none, But for His mercys sake, Jesus, Gods Son, Suffered on Calvarys tree - Crucified with thieves was He - Great was His grace to me, His wayward one. And when I think of how, At Calvary, He bore sins penalty Instead of me. Amazed, I wonder why He, the sinless One, should die For one so vile as I; My Saviour He!
