Listening to bluegrass. So reminds me of being in church with granny. I can still hear ole Norman V harmonizing in that deep voice. And the women singing very high notes. Have to wonder if that is related or bc of our ancestor women singing at the drum is very high too. Hmmmm Anyway its really taking me back to when I was little and granny would drag me off to the Apostolic at noon and then home for supper and church again at the Stevens Memorial for 6 pm services. I never got to watch Walt Disney when I stayed with my granny. The old people used to feed me those round peppermint candies, and yeh it kept my mouth busy for awhile but then the sugar rush would hit! I remember grannys stern expression as she angrily waved for me to come back bc I popped up somewhere else than beside her. heheheh And she made me wear dresses. grrrrr But most of all the beautiful songs and singing! I loved singing my little heart out. The hymn book was one of my main learning-to-read books. I learned to appreciate the subleties of music and love it in general. That was the most spiritual thing I got out of church. I spent a lot of time with the elders of the community. When I think of the times spent with granny my memories always have sunshine in them and lots of flowers.
