Listening to the last three episodes again this afternoon I have come to realise that I MUCH prefer TA when the residents are pulling together.. not wrenching/rending/rendering apart. The real sounding conversations, natural reactions and dry gentle comedy were a joy to listen to. I dont really care that much about Tony.. I used to.. but not any more. Heartless I know.. but since his metamorphosis hes been unutterably vile... and given that in his petulant desire for beef cattle he destroyed his family it seems entirely appropriate that he be hoist on his own petard as it were I have more sympathy for Otto frankly... There were a couple of flies in the ointment.. I completely understand Jesss motivation for informing Jennifer.. but Im surprised at Jennifers reaction to the news that her nieces fiancé has probably fathered a child with his not yet ex wife.. and why oh why were the very first words out of Lillians mouth not.. what the bloody hell is she telling YOU for ?? Is it because I live in Canada that I have no idea what the hell an LEP was ?? I think a little explanation might have been helpful.. or were all you Brits perfectly well aware. ?? Plus Bert Fry is 78 years old.. so what was he still doing at 7pm in Carols garden in late November. It would have been pitch black by 4.30.. 5pm at the latest.. of course he had to be there to meet Jennifer and have the conversation about his home being a Brookfield tenancy.. [which I confess I had quite forgotten].. but he simply wouldnt have still been there at 7pm.. Jennifer could have arrived at 5pm on the basis that Carol was feeding her before the bridge.. which would have been believable at least.. Its that kind of awkward plot device that annoys me so much.
