Listening to the radio yesterday while waiting for 8am to go into the office I heard the OAPS say Senate President David Mark, HOR Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, Deputy Senate President Ike Emwerenmadu and HOR Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha, reject N3billion official quarters. I almost jumped out of the car to do a jig at the assumption that our leaders have finally decided to place the country above selves for once. It had never happened before that govt officials rejected anything that cost billions to build, as a matter of fact they insist that it must cost billions to build. So you could imagine my state of delirium that our leaders have finally found it in their hitherto hardened hearts to empathize with our plights and rejected their official quarters on account of the ridiculous cost. Sorry to disappoint you sha. They werent rejecting the houses because it costs more than civil servants yearly salary in some states. It wasnt rejected because they wanted the money to be used to develop our healthcare facilities. It certainly wasnt rejected so that the money can be converted to build schools or provide pipe borne water. None of these. They rejected the N3billion official quarters because (wait for it) it wasnt constructed on time and cos of security issues! I was so disgusted I just exited the car and entered the office to do work that I didnt have. Our leaders are still MAD!!!! Eid Mubarak Bo
